Motive(s) for doing good, does it matter??

I used to condemn people on some acts of eye service especially when it has to do with rendering help to others or giving.
I remember being particularly annoyed with an acquintance’s activities of humaniterian service. When I saw the pictures and the videos as posted on social media, I smiled (happy seeing the joy on the faces) and later frowned thinking about the motive. Then I remembered the message of apostle Paul (Philippians 1:15-18), irrespective of the motive, be it in truth or under false pretense as long as the message being preached is Christ, then let it be.
I must not be more concerned about any other person’s motive for charity work as long as help or assistance is being rendered.
I must be more concerned about my motive for doing any act of service in the coming year. I should focus less on others but more on myself when considering motives.
